Life's Choice
While walking on the mountain top needing time to rest. I roll out my cot and close my eyes for a little nap. As my mind starts to drift into a dream like space there are visions of vivid colors dangling in my head. They have no real form just moving with speed like a thousand snakes. Long large snakes lick Red flares shooting Forest fire is churning With a very sharp and intense pain and a loud snap and pop my cot has just collapsed. I try to roll but on my back I lay flat. Gasping for air while sucking in dirt from the dusty floor. My lungs burn and give me a taste of an acrid like lake. I can see all the birds screeching in a terrified flight. Sky so gray and dark Moon with a smiling face Life's weight holding me down Pushing and pulling trying to get myself free, even if I can't walk on the ground I can crawl if only I could see where I'm going. This once and beautiful place has become a dark and lonely sight and 'oh' so sad. Life is short Hell is close Praise and been seen. Contest sponsored by: Broken Wings 8/4/15
