A Barrel Full of Soupers
A barrel full of monkeys could be a lot of fun, Especially on a tropic island sitting in the sun. A barrel full of soupers that would be a sight, Not fun like monkeys when hurtful things they write. Not all things we wish for can always come true, I hope this poem gives you pause it's well overdue. You soupers were a happy lot as far as I could see, Now it seems you tease and taunt in your revelry. Would that all were happy and loved their fellow man, I wish that our poetic words followed this simple plan. The joy I feel when I write a poem is a lovely thing, I write my poetry for all to read without any sting. To use your poetic talent to cause someone pain, Is a spiteful horrid thing that I think quite profane. If your heart has listened to all I had to say, This will be the dawn of a new and happy day.
