Butterfly In My Hand
Janmashtami, is an annual celebration of the birth of the Hindu deity Krisna, the eighth avatar of Vishnu. A baby boy took birth on the same day, let's see what happens ... Butterfly in my hand ( Avant-garde Haibun) A star fell apart from the rain bathed monsoon sky - Janmashtami night I was born with a butterfly in my hand. A few croaking frogs and chirping crickets were the witnesses. My parents named me after the Lord - "Krishna". I used to play with the flying colours of rainbow. A pair of dreamy eyes was my sole belonging. Now, my little angelic hands break coals, wash dishes and your cars, serve platters. My world is restricted to the periphery of a Dhaba. Your hypocrisy - enslaved your God and your shame renamed me " Chhotu" Don't need your pity; Give me back my lost childhood and the butterfly ... Dhaba : Roadside open restaurant / eatery. Chhotu : little boy For contest : My favourite forms - Haibun or Sonnet
