A Free Bird
A bird flew close to some kids Then it walked to them The kids got very excited The little ones were very scared Mommy came close to it and put her palms up The bird walked right on them Comfortably standing there The kids got even more excited Around ten kids, all put their palms out Even the little ones The bird jumped from palms to palms The kids and the parents were all smiles and laughter Some took their cameras out I thought, this would be my next poem This was a beautiful scene The kids said "this is a friendly bird" I thought, this is a daring bird coming this close to the humans A free bird I wanted to take it home, maybe it could teach me a thing or two about life A bird walked on the road past traffic I was astonished to see this little bird Walking so confidently and fearlessly Like it didnt notice the big machinery and wheels Like it noticed the danger and all, but it was just a risk taker I wondered what was wrong with its wings It didn't look injured And it wasn't a baby either Away it continued, walking further into the grass A free bird A free heart
