Do You Ever
Do you ever look in to the sky Not to complain or ask for a thing Not to question why Do you have long talks with our savior Ones that quickly devour an entire hour Discussing your own behavior Do your knees still hit the floor Palms together, tightly tethered Asking for nothing more Do you ever approach a stranger Tell them the glory that awaits in eternity And of the opposing danger Do you dream of his loving face All of the blood lost as he hung on the cross Celebrating his goodness and grace Do you know, you're not entitled a thing A home with power, steamy showers Still your tithe, you should bring Do you realize that he gave it all Laid it out on the line so you could shine Or do you blame him every time you fall Do you think to give him the credit When, through your sinning, you find yourself winning If you forget, do you go back and edit Do you ever dust off the good book Read a page or two, letting knowledge accrue Or encompass anger from what he took Do you know deep down inside He doesn't cause pain for your tears to rain He has designed a plan for your ride
