Beneath My Shadow
BENEATH MY SHADOW- As I walk my shadow starts to fade, Oblivious to the fact I believe –my mind is playing some misty games; With the moon lit path ‘my shadow’ starts to shine as if getting ‘enlightened’, The soft breeze tingling my conscious : from beneath ‘my shadow’ emerges my sub conscious, Untouched desires, incomplete dreams, silent aspirations, broken reflections, The sub conscious stands ‘there’ authoritatively as if seeking answers, As I walk my shadow starts to fade. My body feels empty –‘what if my whole life was a lie?’ The conscious slyly moving away…behold! The master (sub conscious) is here; I sit down and stare at my shadow;did’nt I ever realize as to why it was there with me always? A tear rolls down and my sub conscious catches it turning it into a sparkle, The sparkle drenches my soul with the ‘real me’, I bow to thee master and say “please always stay with me”; As I walk my shadow starts to fade. I question my sub conscious “where were you”? It replies “where you were”, But I insist ‘no! no no! you were never there; It says “ but if only you had been there”; “I was always with you , just like your shadow was with you but you never paid any heed to it”, “I may not always speak but my silence is something you need to hear, can you hear silence?” As I walk my shadow starts to fade. Suddenly the light gets dim and the atmosphere gets diffused into darkness, Was I in a state of trance? I retrace my footsteps staring at “my shadow”, A gentle smile adorns my face……. As I walk my shadow starts to fade.
