Pastel Reflections
When I feel the rays of sunsets spilling into the air, I count the ways I know you're there; And I count the days since the light you gave me -- Once a flaming blaze -- now dwindles down as embers flee. Then I think of you: how we left it all and said goodbye. How it's so true that sparks will fly. (fires die) Must they fly away from me like leaves that fall from the trees? Like kites that go astray in a summer breeze? Memories may fade, but why must I still live with the pain That is laid upon my heart again? When I see your face from the depths of sadness I recall each place two lovers met and shared a kiss. For I love you still; and I long to see you just as much As winter's chill needs summer's touch. Bring me back to life again, like fragile flow'rs in the spring Please be my wife as long as the angels sing. For I love you more than when we sat here side by side And we felt the sunsets' blazing tide. When I looked at you, how I swelled with pride; For our love was true -- true as our hearts beating inside. When I said "I do," and ever since I have never lied: I'll love you still until I die. Heaven can't undo plans for me and you. Since before the earth ever came to be, You were meant for me.
