I Lie Here Ready To Die
I Lie Here Ready To Die War is crud. Laying here in the mud My mates shot down Like flies All around I cry out for help I get no response I lie here ready to die My bloodshot eyes see is the dark gloomy sky All I can hear are guns firing and bombs flying A thousand rounds towards my mates BOOM BOOM BOOM, They now lie in the same mud as me. All that is rushing through my head Is my family Oh how sad my children And my wife will be When they know their only father and husband Now lays dead with a bullet through his head. But I wish this was a dream something that will pass I would rather be lying in bed Not having to worry about me and my mates being dead And as I lie here with these thoughts flickering through my head I fall unconscious Then I am dead.
