Your True Love
A trickster at best, please cover your eyes, He'll sing you into his sweet lullaby, If your not careful, he'll fall into your lap, He chooses his bait carefully, his words are a trap, He finds your weakness, and masters his disguise, He does it for fun most of the time, He takes what's near and dear and close to your heart, And turns it into his game, and rips you apart, Stealing the words from every verse and line, Standing in front of an audience making fun of your life, It's subtle and demeaning, and nobody knows, That he needs you in order to put on a show, It's hard to confront, because he's so good at hiding, Because only you can tell what he's personally describing, So take my advice, be careful what you say, In order to find himself, he acts this way, This time around, he chose the wrong pawn, At first his intent was for fun until he fell in love with her song, Deep and meaningful he wished he could be, He wished his eyes could see what she sees, And all this time, she read him her stories, She knew God was using her for his glory, And this man, this trickster, who thought he was one step ahead, Ended up evaluating his own heart instead.
