You Will Know
The salty air I sit on the sand Still warm from a day of sun And watch you swim Swim. …That is all we ever did. observing each other for the first time exposed. the purple sky of a setting sun signals a return to home the first touch you will know on the first touch. a spark between two souls. you will not be able to stop you will never want to stop. Unfamiliar ground How could it feel so right, -the unknown? …will I feel that again, now that you’re gone? They told me the water took you When I was not around How could that be!? I watched you swim a thousand laps You could conquer any type of sea I go back to that evening Your hand on me We knew from the beginning Our love would always run deep And now, here I am with memories … You left this world in the thing you loved most Peacefully, surrounded by the very thing That brought us so close Swim. You swam until you could no more It was the best way you could’ve gone For it was near the water in which you found love. And I’ll still be by the water But I’ll never be alone. Your spirit lies within me I feel you everyday And I will always remember you Until we meet again.
