Girlfriends Back Then
Girls were different back then They'd give you their telephone numbers Written in lipstick or eyebrow pencil Instead of a pen You'd wait a few days to call them To pretend you were not keen Then you'd arrange a date And spray yourself all over with Aramis And brush your teeth at least a dozer times Until they gleamed. I went out with one girl three times And each time she broke my heart Her name was June bur she should have been named December Because she had a ice cold heart We had such great times together But it wasn't meant to be Now she is married to a Troglodyte knuckle dragger With rubber lips like Mick Jagger and his swagger. I had more than a few girlfriends back then But I was only looking for one To be my partner and best friend But now I can't even get one The one's I've met just want a one night strand And then they are gone Not my scene. I could never understand why lads were always outside fighting Over girls while I was inside with the girls having fun If I ever saw a fight I'd take off and run I got on better with girls than lads I used to get so bored listening to talk about soccer I didn't care who had lost or won. How times have changed Don't get time to know each others names You ring them after a few days like we used too And they can't even remember who you are Are you the one with the Ferrari or Masserati car?. I was alive back then and full of live Then a dark cloud descended upon me And I felt that I had died Now I live my life in limbo an orphan from the world And all I ever wanted was to settle down And be a Father to a boy or girl.
