A man in an aeroplane drops bombs Upon innocent children in school If only the pilot could see their tiny faces And the horror tears and primal screams Of a berived grieving mums. Food production in the USA has risen by twenty four percent They have more than they need But still 750 million children worldwide go to bed hungry every night And so many die before the morning light We have food mountains stored in Europe That are left to rot away And decay. Here in the UK An estimated two hundred old people freeze to death Fearful of turning the heating on It's a case of eat or heat for many Families today But the government don't care And sadly turn away. As I sit here writing it's so peaceful a nightingale is singing in a tree You'd think such things can't be happening They seem a million miles away from me But it's sad to say These things are happening somewhere Everyday.
