The Sun Never Rose
We have a higher calling The makings of a superior race Our higher power is failing Mocking Him straight in the face He has given us life The first and only chance What if he decided enough is enough And took away the days without a second glance We sleep in fear on our end We walk with eyes on our backs The days are dark we cannot pretend Who to pray to if He never answers back The sun never rose we split the atom We sit in the darkness of the aftermath The sun never rose we dropped the bomb Our dinosaur bones scatter the earth The custodians of the universe Our backyard is a real shame Open and read a bible verse He’s calling out your name Our future is brighter Even if the sun never rose Technology is moving faster Our ego’s blinding our arrogance The sun never rose we cut down the forest We sit in the coldness of the nuclear winter The sun never rose, but the poles continue to smelt Our frozen bones like glass continue to shatter He has given us intelligence So we think we’re His equal He’s the God of second chances But will never tolerate what is immoral Inspired by the Maetro's 'NUMB'
