Disastrous Double Date
A cute guy called James once asked me on a date He rang me the next day said could he bring his mate A blind date – oh I’d see if my best mate Jen would come It might be a disaster then again it could turn out to be fun Jen and I got ready and wore our pretty dresses Make up was applied and we brushed our lovely tresses We met the guys in a bar and how my face fell No thought of their attire but at least they didn't smell! James wore a white shirt with buttons sewn on with different cotton He hadn't made an effort any chance of romance was soon forgotten I turned around and I had a good look at his best mate Neil He had a massive scar across his face it made me want to squeal In the past he been in trouble and had got into a brawl Some one had slashed his face – not a good thing at all We sat and had a drink and I looked at my mate Jen Had hoped for romance – but it wouldn't be with them Jen and I went off to the loo together (the way that ladies do) Tried to hatch an escape plan, the lads didn't have a clue Went back to the bar and soon it was time to leave Hoped they wouldn't try to kiss us, the idea made us heave We hurried out of the bar our bus we didn't want to miss Jen and I climbed the steps of the bus together to avoid a kiss Sat on the bus and laughed at our awful night Never heard from James again - our chemistry wasn't right! A fun tale on Poetry Soup of Jan and Jen flying the coop. This really is a true story from when I was about 18 years old – the most hilarious thing was the two of us trying to get up the steps of the bus together and almost falling over eachother in the process! 2nd May 2015 Contest: –) The Pigeon who Flew the Coop Tammy Reams
