Coming Clean
By Laura April 17, 2015 Nightmares come every single night To close my eyes, tell me it's alright The darkness comes to hold my hand I'm drowning here, can't you understand? Who will come in here to save my soul? Heal my burning skin and make me whole But no one lies inside my withered heart So take my lungs; rip my skin apart Sinking deeply in the depths of my despair Lonely thoughts in here are more than I can bear Vaguely I believe in a crystal clarity Dreaming hopelessly of the girl I'll never be All I'm hearing are these voices in my head Pieces of my broken mind in everything I've said Minutes slowly stretching to vast eternities Strands of light escaping the darkest parts of me The bravest thing; to close my eyes I'm letting go; I'm cutting ties Another night, another dream I'll never die, I'm coming clean
