Dream Kiss
Dream kiss Just like in the ocean so vast and wide and deep. Are the hearts of lovers dreaming while they sleep. Alone I stand upon this shore staring out to sea. Believing somewhere out there, someone’s looking back at me. I raise my hand to shield my eyes from the bright light of the sun. Then look out to the horizon. To see if I can see the one. The one that will chase my loneliness forever far away. At last I see there’s no one there, I have to wait another day. I walk out to the water and get down on bended knee. I place a kiss inside my hand, then put it in the sea. I imagine that I can watch it as waves toss it to and fro. Knowing as I watch and wait our love can only grow. I watch until the sun sinks down giving way to night. Taking with it in all its glory the last rays of daylight. In the dark alone I sit heart aching wanting more. As I listen to the ocean kiss the rocks along the shore. Edwin C Hofert
