Dancing, singing, Fiddlers, bagpipes; Balloons and food, Neighbours young and old came. Girls danced around the maypole singing, And one girl was crowned Queen of May Day; It was a carnival festival of springtime, Houses decorated with paper streamers. Flower baskets, Sweets to delight; Parades and sports, Lily of the valley flower given. The sky above was always azure blue, A sweet breeze drifted the lovely spring scents; Pets and people in bright attire strolled, We celebrated all day and into the night.
