Going Away
Sorrow cries out as sadness stings, Teary grief shouts a painful string. Going away stabs at my heart, This hurting grabs in bleeding part. Too much this pain that hurls and swings, Too much this strain as sorrow flings. No one can know the pain I feel, Now sorrow shows what never heals. In space and time, your lovely touch, Now broken rhymes hurl pain so much. Why all these tears for someone far? We were not near; you were a star! Oh sad, sad day when your left us, Yet to this day, teary outbursts. Why these feelings of final surge? Why these glimpsing as tears emerge? Too late, too late, the loss we know, A final gate in death's sure flow. So goodbye then dear unknown friend, We know not when we'll meet or trend. Sorrow stabs hard as naked truth, This fragile bard knows pain in proof. Gone with stray wind through bamboo mists, Known yet unseen in essence: gist. Leon Enriquez 12 April 2015 Singapore
