Hell Embraced
Hell Embraced He wonders when it happened, when it was it seemed he fell. He fell in love with darkness, he fell in love with hell. He started loving whiskey and he loved his Friday nights. He hated Sunday mornings, he loved those bar room fights. He loved the taste of cigarettes and he loved his cheap cologne. He learned to love the night life but he hated life alone. He loved to feel the hunger and he loved to feel the burn. He hated her for teaching him things he never wished to learn. He loved his friends and family his love for them was strong. Until the day they turned away the day they did him wrong. That's the day it happened that's the moment that he fell. He wrapped his arms around it and he embraced his hell. They danced like there's no tomorrow long past the light of day. They danced like no one's watching, they danced his life away. But then came the moment he knew he slipped off track. He stood to face the devil and then he took his life back. He's forgiven those that hurt him he's forgiven all their wrongs. He started writing poetry, he started writing songs. He tells it on the mountains he admits he lost control. He tells the world his message he bares to them his soul. He speaks against injustice, he cries out for the weak. He sings songs the deaf can hear the voice of those who cannot speak. He no longer loves the darkness he stays home on Friday nights. He loves his Sunday mornings he stays away from bar room fights. He still smokes his cigarettes and wears his cheap cologne. He avoids the night life and he hates life alone. He found a brand new hunger and he feels a different burn. He tells his own life story telling all he came to learn. Edwin C Hofert
