Sit Beside This Gentle Flowing Stream
Sit Beside This Gentle Flowing Stream I can not just hold your water my dear or idly watch as you live in deep fear You must yet again drink from sweet life leave behind all this turmoil and strife Walk beside me down this country lane turn back before you go madly insane I will gladly hold your loving hand walk you safely anywhere in this land Sit beside this gentle flowing stream wet our feet on our every future dream Let me again kiss those sweetest lips plan our lives ahead and all our trips Now you have found the truth of living not treasure but rather the act of giving Shall we climb to the top of that hill to the spot we had our first deep thrill Yes, decades have now so swiftly flown by as you held my loving heart and lit my sky Remember when we walked that country lane darling, lets you and I do it again and again! Robert J. Lindley Note-- This I once envisioned with my first love. Alas, fate had other roads to travel. Who am I to say this or that would have been better?
