Where Is That Guy
The other day my friend asked, "Hey, where is that guy?" I knew to whom she was referring, as I let out a heavy sigh. I asked myself the same question day in and day out. The same boy who made me, want to scream and want to shout. We hadn't been the same in quite a long while. Had you really forgotten how to make me smile? Where is that guy whose hug felt like home? For when in his embrace, I thought I'd never again roam. Where is that guy who set fire to my skin? With just one touch, that familiar sensation would begin. Where is that guy who always called me beautiful? Who told me that our love, would always remain youthful. Where is that guy who chose to write, that love note he left, me to find that night? Where is that guy who in the middle of the night, drunk texted me from the bar, because we got into a fight? Where is that guy with whom I planned a future? The one who made me feel, I'd never need another suitor. I know you are long gone, but I can't seem to get my footing. The only question that remains, is "why am I still even looking?" That future we had planned, is a gone and distant dream. It's true what they say, nothing is ever what it seems.
