Following the paths martyrs trod, I found their thinking to be flawed. For preaching hell and damnation makes God's eternal love a fraud. In a world filled with temptation, all religions sell salvation. And yet, like a cascading wave, fear undermines faith's foundation. Scared of what lies beyond their graves, some morph into religious slaves. And fearful of sins to atone, they yearn to believe Jesus saves. I don't fear, for I'm not alone; but my God doesn't sit on a throne. And He never demands my praise, for His heart is not carved from stone. To find God in this mortal maze; you do not need to fast for days. Like a kiss garnered from the wind, His love's revealed in gentler ways.
