Carved From Stone
I have felt the seed of faith sprout in my hurting heart, filled with doubt. And yet, so few still worship God outside times of famine or drought. Following the paths martyrs trod, I found their thinking to be flawed. For preaching hell and damnation makes God's eternal love a fraud. In a world filled with temptation, all religions sell salvation. And yet, like a cascading wave, fear undermines faith's foundation. Scared of what lies beyond their graves, some morph into religious slaves. And fearful of sins to atone, they yearn to believe Jesus saves. I don't fear, for I'm not alone; but my God doesn't sit on a throne. And He never demands my praise, for His heart is not carved from stone. To find God in this mortal maze; you do not need to fast for days. Like a kiss garnered from the wind, His love's revealed in gentler ways.
