Green Dot Team
I'm sitting alone in the campus commons, reading my notes for class, I have a big test, I want to do well, get a good grade, Im nervous I dont know how I will do, Im almost ready to pick a major, communication Studies it is My thoughts are distracted by a loud commontion, a female student is being harassed by a male student who looks out of place, should I intervene Im not sure, after all Im just one person what can I do? I make a quick decision, I cant stand by and let this take place, after all I took the green dot pledge last semester. I gather up my stuff, and run to her aide, which one of the D steps shoudl I take? I decide to be "dIRECT' and shout to her loudly, "Hey Brittany, how are you, how did you do on your test?".. the male stops what he is doing, and quickly takes off. The student is ok, I help her to her feet, she quietly asks me, why did you stop him? I just shrug and say, This is MCTC and that behavior is not ok". She then asks me where I learned that technique of Direct, Distract, Delegate, I just get up to leave, and say, WHy from the MCTC Green Dot team".
