The Questioning
Looking at the stars little Anna said Of what are they made? “With the souls of the persons dead”, her Father said. “From where do the stars get their light”, little Anna said “From the smiles of the little ones on Earth”, Father responded. She asked “Why the Sun and the Moon can’t be seen together?” “The night will not be seen then due to the immense light”, replied the Father. Little Anna frowns, “Where from the Roses get their smell and Orchids their color?” “From the ecstasy of love and kindness of God”, the Father answers. “Where from the rivers get their water”, she intrigued. “The kindness and love of the Almighty rolls down from his eyes”, the Father continued. “What is Love”, little Anna asks. “Love is to care for others just like God does for you”, Father delivers. She asked, “Why does God never die?” “He takes care of us throughout our lives. Without Him, no one survives”, the Father replies. Drowsiness covered her energetic eyes. Like profound clouds enveloping the skies. The father, annoyed of her silly questions, sighs. The Questioning of little Anna, still highs. “One last question”, said Little Anna and asked, “Where do people go after they are dead?” “To Heaven, where peace and serenity reside along with the Almighty”, the Father said. Little Anna had already fallen asleep Her eyes had merged with the darkness of the deep Her lips moving slowly, uttering something vaguely Trying to hear, her Father brought his ear close to her lips And having heard the utterance, tears rolled down his cheeks Only the last words that he could remember- “I love and will love you, forever and ever!”
