Loving Jesus the Old Fashioned Way
Loving Jesus the Old Fashioned Way! There’s something on my mind that I know is o.k. It’s about loving Jesus the old fashioned way. I know this probably sounds silly to most of you. But has the love of Jesus really got a hold of you? I remember as a child loving Jesus with a passion. My heart was filled with his love and compassion. But as I got older, and thinking I was “wiser.” I suppose that I let down my “spiritual visor.” I began to let all sorts of things kind of “creep in.” And before I knew it, I was bound up by sin. There were many new ideas that swirled in my head. I began to worry about what other people said. In my attempts to “appease,” my life changed. The person what once loved Jesus wasn’t the same. As the “new” way of living crumbled around me… It was Jesus’ love and grace that found me! He called me to return to the first love I once knew. I could hear him calling… He said; “I LOVE YOU!” If serving and loving him is old fashioned… I want it! The more I see his message in God’s word… I love it! I’m going back to the Jesus I knew way back when. I’m going to fall in love with him “all over again.” I’m thankful and blessed that he’s patient and kind! And blessed to know that he’s now a friend of mine! He’s brought an abundant life to my heart today! I still love him in the same OLD FASHIONED WAY! By Jim Pemberton 02/19/15
