My Dad Was Sent
My Dad Was Sent One day my dad will be with again, In heaven on high not knowing when; God, He only knows this very thing; Many times about will start to sing. Oh, God so gracious and all knowing Sometime to heaven I will be going And as approaching that very day, There still is much for me to say. Top of my head was all that was kissed; Opportunities together were often missed, And lonesome to me my life has been, Yet, he still did found time to discipline. Now that he has gone what will I do To let life make many improvements to; Still ease my suffering with all the pain; Futilely Cry until nothing is left to gain. Time marches on while days pass by As my beleaguered body soon tries to die My mind down deeply remembers each moment Until back to heaven my dad was sent. James Thomas Horn, Retired Veteran
