Through a Feather's Touch
taste the dust of past and present the moments of life’s gifts and love lost blowing gently in the atmosphere like ghost sounds in symphony entering your home, blinding your eye, seeking your company and remember me as I was seated at your couch I’m visible to you now only through a feather’s touch I plead for a full life in my youth I pray for safety from danger and an early death I will ruffle feathers whilst crows' eggs hatch with the time I’m given fulfil a purpose like a burning match squeeze life to the fullest out of this body until my last breath knock down closed doors until opportunities comes forth what I fear most about life is dying, and the smell the flies and decomposition of flesh from bone and skull I know I cannot go into the afterlife in this expired shell and chances are I’ve sinned so much I’m closer in fact to hell the thought of being consumed by maggots, let me tell... compels me to go against culture and tradition and oh well my shadow will remain in the back of your mind when I wither away and follow my tears into the ground this boat is sailing in rough seas on a toss, ‘heads or tails’ I can never steer it to turn around once it sets sail my cremated ashes is all that I can wear a final sunset for warmth I hold in odourless glassware
