Silently I sit alone in my room tears roll down my face “I told you to stay home, but no you go out with your friends then you come home drunk!” mom yelling at my older brother again “I just wanted to go out and have a good time why don't you lighten up?” My brother screams back at her Tired of hearing the same argument every week along with fifteen others Why can’t we ever be happy? I say to myself drying up my tears Nothing ever changes and no one ever listens I just want to have a moment of peace is that too much to ask for? I guess so … things are going to change around here, and I’m going to make sure that happens Standing up and walking to the door I pause “You know what fine, be that way, I’m leaving” the front door opens and I hear it slam shut I walk into the room and I see mom who has that look which gives me the feeling I shouldn't say anything, but I choose to anyway, after I speak my mind she looks shocked with what I said, instead of waiting for her to reply I just simply walk away feeling like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders
