You Will Make Her Whole
As your world fades to gray, You are painting her days in brilliant colors, And her nights in soft pastels. Go before her, into the darkness. Bear the fear and pain on your shoulders, You cannot afford to let them crush you. Rip the light from your soul and cast it into the air. As you fade into the shadows, She will dance in radiance. Build her a sailboat, While your lungs fill with water. Choking and sputtering, You salvage for redemption In the fragmented dreams she leaves behind. She is wild on that glimmering ocean, Laughter echoing off the sea-salt wind. You pray for the darkness to envelop you. Her body is a fire, Igniting everything she touches. To embrace her is to burn. As the flames devour your skin, Whisper through the smoke That there’s not enough left in you, To sew her back together anymore. When exhaustion captures you, You crumple under the weight of your burdens. You are half dead among the piles of her decay, And she still sings like there aren't scars on her skin.
