Wishful Thinking
Little children playing marbles having so much fun, They look so innocent, seem so free I can't help but wonder, why not me? I once had a childhood I once was innocent and free, But now I live alone with drugs the streets are my only home. Can't you see. . . I can't go back, it's too late to change my life is almost over now, If only I wasn't so scared and alone maybe I could face the truth. I am a soldier who has died in a war I will no longer march in victory, I've strayed from the path, I'm lost no longer will I see the light, nor hope for any dreams. I am but another lost soul I have no real identity, I'm trying not to regret my choices I'm dying, you're not, don't follow in my foot steps, remember you're free, stay innocent, live this way this life, for me, even if only in a lost souls never waking dream.
