Sight
Our seeing hearts dictated Our thoughts, our actions. Incandescent beams of light Who used to be our mentors, our friends, Run back to their homeland They have missed the warm sunrises. And want nothing to do with our darkness. They left before our sight was taken, not after. For our ignorance was not a result of our blindness- But the cause. You have made us blind, An act of Love- That by taking our sight we might gain you And lose the world. Destruction has occurred in Your absence, We call it construction and peace. Without color, without light, Black becomes white, Accepted now is selective sight, What is wrong or what is right, Is irrelevant So I will break the icy grip Of this human condition. For though he has eyes that can predict the exact moment I will fall, He believes my blindness to be my greatest weakness- In truth it has become my only strength. Now I sense him in a way only a blind heart can. His eyes may have sight, But his other senses are dull. In this blessed darkness, we have sharpened our ears And our minds- We will fight for our hearts. Please feel free to leave any constructive criticism, thanks
