Shadows and Darkness
I wish you would take me out of this lonely place, where the shadows and darkness hide my face. I'm stuck in a world of terror and fears, stuck with all these lingering tears. I try to escape the shackles and chains, but all that is released are many pains. This is no life for me, where I'm surrendering on my knees. This life of burden and sorrow, my face holding smiles borrowed. The lies and darkness is my prison cell, this is my own version of Hell. Where the shadows overpower the light, I'm forever stuck in an endless night. It's a constant fight that was finished before it started. I wonder for how long my heart has been parted. Within this dark dungeon, where my heart lay shattered is where my feelings are most scattered. Is there an escape to this prison gate, Or all along was this supposed to be my fate? I feel like I have so much to offer the world, but yet here is where I remain curled. These shackles and chains are too much. Can you hear every last hope crunch, down here in this lonely place where the shadows and darkness hide my face?
