And She Learned How To Fly
And so she stood, Her heart open to the world, Her soul bare for him to see, And the moon impregnated her, With it's blinding light. Their souls touched, And melded together, And it felt, as if they had made love, She had never felt anything so deep. It did not matter that he was an invader, Nor that he caused her countrymens deaths, Her heart was stolen. And when they separated, And he left her there, Empty promises in her barren womb, Grief in her bleeding heart, It crushed her spirit. She stood at the cliffs edge, And somewhere along the way, Her Love, looked back; Perhaps he somehow knew, What she was about to do. That she was was finally, Going to fulfill one of her dreams, And learn how to fly. He didn't think there would be, Tears in those emerald eyes, He didn't know her cheeks, Were battered with tears, So he kept walking.
