My Choice
I never knew what goodbye really felt like until I walked away. We don’t talk anymore and every lie you say burns a hole in my chest. Excuses for your absences are bouncing off the walls of my head. Is four years too long? There’s no effort, there’s no smiles, there’s no hope anymore. I tried to fight the distance but you've built a wall between our friendship. Our inside jokes forgotten, our promises are broken, our memories erased. I remember when I stood by your side through everything, when I begged for forgiveness every time the road got bumpy, when every risk I took was so nothing could come between us. What did I do wrong? I trusted you, I respected you, I loved you. What else did you want? The once stable ground is crumbling beneath our feet. I’m being replaced, forgotten, told that everything's fine… but its not. So since you've chosen your path, I've decided to follow mine; the decision that it’s time to finally say, Goodbye.
