'star' of the Show
The star of the show dances around, the black carpeted stage, Surrounding her as she, Closes her eyes and moves with such agile steps, It makes the other stars stare in awe. The lights dim out as she smiles such a white smile, it practically sparkles through the dark. Her white dress flows behind her as she lifts a leg, then Twirls on her leg, defying the physical law. The woman, Halley is her name? Such a beautiful name for her, A young maiden with such talent, As she orbits the stage, twirling and leaping in the air with such speed, Light years would be put to shame. She doesn’t need any lights, she’s already bright enough, Her skin shining brighter than any light, But as she dances the night away, this star of the show, Didn’t want the money, showing her face was her only aim. But this woman isn’t really a star, is she? The people watching aren’t really stars, are they? Even the stage isn’t a stage at all! If you’re just realizing it, this poem may seem a little mad to you. Think about the real night sky, The “stars” that sit there in the black “stage”, watching the real show. Halley’s comet, though it was a short show that passed by, She just wanted to be noticed as her body passed through.
