Still Alive
Even after all the things you put me through, the things I have to remember, I’m still alive and still here. I have to continue in life with the pain of those times on my shoulders, But I’ll still walk, dragging the bricks of life’s regrets anywhere. The memories haunt me, but I still walk towards the unpredictable future, Trying to rid myself of each thing. No matter how much you throw at me, I’ll still continue on, What luck will this path bring? Even if I don’t have a goal to reach out to, I’ll still move forward, Counting the times I’ve said “No.” Because my dreams are what keep me alive today, the will to go forward, My heart is the thing that tells me what to do. My mind may keep my body alive, but it’s my heart I trust, It shows me the path I walk. My mind may tell me to breath, to keep my heart beating, But it’s my heart that tells me to talk. Even after everything I’ve been through, this mass of water will walk on, Even if I can’t speak right. I have my own rights, and my own choices in life, I do what I want, No one can stop me now, day or night. Because I’m still alive, I still fight, I have my own heart, And I’ll protect it with all my might. I’m Alive…
