Words For My Father.
I love you Dad, I always have And I know that now you love me too But it hasn’t always been that way As a child I used to say…….. Mummy, why doesn’t my daddy love me? Many a time I search for your arms Some sign of love That could be all mine I know we where five But you where so big: You should’ve had enough love For all of us kids You where always there And you provided our needs But I never did think That you ever loved me As the years wore on And I grew up I’d watch you go round And wished for you Dad But you where always so busy With this thing and that You where building your kingdom And said it’s for us. I loved the nice houses And living near the beach But the thing I most wanted Was out of my reach. So many times Dad, you’ll never know I hated your money as you watched it grow. I wanted a father to love and to hold The money was nothing – I wished it would go. The many times I wished you poor I used to think that you’d love me more I used to think That if we lived in a tent There would be more time For Love, cuddles and things. And now you’re much older And I am too And I found that love That I wanted from you But oh Dad, all the lost years Where did they all go? I still hold the scars Of our lost love long ago
