Friend Me
Friend Me Who does God confide in when the Burdens of His flock trouble Him Incessantly, around his timeless Clock? What are God’s resources When the pressure builds to peak Who does He confide in when it’s He who has to speak? If God should Ever tweet us with a quick but needed Blurb, would we just delete it saying “God’s got quite a nerve”? Perhaps The mounting tension has God at His wits end, I wonder if He asked You, would you make Him your Friend? I wonder who He sits with When He needs to talk, or not, Just sit and let Him be God, Not interject a thought? I wonder if He has a friend, Except the ones in need, I wonder if He ever wished That he could be freed From all the pain and suffering From all the guilt and shame From the shaded darkness of Things done in His name. So Today I think I’ll listen, just Sit still and lend an ear, Send God a mental e-mail Say, “I’m listening, I’ll be here” John G. Lawless for Regina Riddle contest - God
