The Last Dance
The year 1917, my name is Jason, last night before the day Will you dance this dance, while the guitars play? And let your body move, with each string plucked Allow your red skirt to fly away not tucked Will you caress my face with each movements pass? Please let your mind burn it deep, like melted glass If your eyes can turn to fire, while the dance remains For tomorrow I go, I'll never complain This World War will cripple my soul To have this moment, on lonely patrol When I tremble in calm before the fight You will give me comfort from fears of the night When bombs burst around every day I'll find you in my mind, to wipe tears away And when I crawl and hide in a trench of death I won't forget this dance, my last request To me my dear it's a dance lasting So please dance it well, it's everlasting I lost my life on the eighth of June My last memory, was dancing under the moon Contest ....Past Lives 6/20/14
