I used to run to them when i needed help Thats just what family is supposed to do Then they would strike their bargains, and make their deals And leave me a stack of IOU's. They planned events and left me out And i would learn of it as days passed Then people would think i didnt attend on purpose Though i was never asked. These are people who were supposed to love me And always have my back The same blood trickles through my veins Maybe there is some gene I seem to lack. The loneliness used to overcome me Some days I wanted to end it all But i refused to let them beat me down And the satisfaction to watch me fall. There is a lesson that i learned the hard way Not to put my trust in any man And just because they are labelled as family Doesnt mean the wont hurt you when they can. So now i enjoy my life of solitude And i answer only to God above I know he will have my back forever Surrounded by his never ending love..
