Medical Field Of Dreams Doctor Duit and his staff say There is no cure for life or life assurance For all things medical and medieval Take 2 aspirin and call us in the morning Leave divorce and other sorted things to lawyers We’re headed for the golf course where we belong When I get ill I see the nurse and her thermometer In the end I get it with an Obama bill There is no anxiety, as medical is free, or some such fantasy If I have to pay, I’ll take another pill That’s way too much to swallow Government approval is mandatory If I don’t comply I’ll simply die They tell me that I’m well Which translates, terminal Nurse takes me to the quiet room Studies my symptoms, searches for solutions She asks me for my soul and, “Are you covered?” “At night when sleeping”, I say Doctors take to golf course for the cure For schemes and dreams They are seen no more The final health care nightmare is Illness is what they say it is According to biblical prognostications and medieval ways Submitted for your approval Go home and pray for health There is nothing like that here Nurse says to me; “How will you be paying for this today Mr. Functionary?” “Why, with my life of course and not a penny more.” I retort
