Tears On the Wind
Such a sad and sorrowful day at least from my point of view The day my son went away as he joined the proud and the few As off to Parris Island he was sent my only child leaving the nest Oh, and in that island, where he went, I knew he was in for a test The day before he would leave the tears just began to flow As my whole heart would start to grieve and boy did it show I could not even look at his face without a tear in my eye I miss him so much around this place but I too have to try Just like so many others tears in the wind as so many others weep As against our cheeks they are pinned in coming out from so deep But just in getting up and around those tears would begin to dry For the one thing that I have found is that I at least have to try And with each new day that passed my spirit began to rebound As all that sorrow didn't last once my feet were back on the ground In realizing I have a job to do also those tears on the wind are no more But one thing I do know there'll be tears on the wind at the end of his tour Tears of sadness, tears of joy
