Eyes filled with such fear, pain, and agony, This is the face of a teenage girl. This is what happens when people ignore. No one ever cared enough to do something. Though they all saw the signs. How her friends’ hands would just “slip” And make her face burn. Too many times did the truth hurt. Too many times did she lie awake at night, Thinking about how much she longed for freedom. Too many tears ran coldly down her cheek As she angrily brushed them away. People stared. They laughed. They killed. Their looks like daggers into her skin. Their actions like blood seeping out of her body. No matter how hard she tried, She couldn’t escape. The thoughts were always there, That laughter never ceasing. Blood pumping fast through her veins, She stood out on the ledge. Her black dress billowing in the wind, She decided to let it all go. Two hands grabbed her waist Just as she stepped off the building. They pulled her into a hug and turned her body around. She couldn’t look him in the eye, She couldn’t speak. He sat down on the ground and held her close. She could tell he’d been crying by his rough breathing. They stayed there all night until she woke up, Looking into the sun. She woke him up and then hugged him. She squeezed him and cried.
