Century Soldiers
Yea, a time to look back upon, to the souls who fought but now are gone. One hundred years have these proud souls rest But once did they fight to hold the west. A great relative now but once a husband and son, lost not for naught for the war was won. With rifles booming and wet dirt flying, Sacrificed bravely to prevent children from crying. A time it was to fight bravely for what is free, against that which would have them bend a knee. But stout were they who held our line, Perpetual and unforgetting, their names will shine. Though life was transient and short to some, We take time to remember with the boom of a drum, Their legacy lives on in those remember, for they walked forth, smothering war flames to naught but ember. One hundred years have these brave souls rest, This tribute i give and your contributions, i attest. The red flower blooms forever more A moment of silence, never to ignore. A price not fair even to this day, But still we walk on and continue to say war is something that we all should deplore, for the cost of which we lose is beyond restore. And now we stand with heads bowed low To recollect they who fought regardless of worry or woe. One hundred years have these heroic souls slumbered, Free, unforgotten, unencumbered.
