Heinous Crime
With the windows of my soul, I have made a covenant Not to look lustfully at another girl. Why then should I purchase another pearl? Lest my mind be captive with imaginations By eyes that would lead my reigns astray To employ the principle of adulterers. Thus, I will not let my heart be deceived; Since roving eyes I do despise, I set my face like a flint. Why then should I think toward anyone else? Or lay in wait at my neighbor's door? I will willingly walk the way of good men, Lest I commit the shameful sin To be punished by the judges, A fire that would consume me to destruction. The seeds I sow would be eaten by others, And my offspring would be rooted out. Thus, I will be mindful only of my wife. Only seeing, touching, tasting her, I will bow to her. She will only grind and desire my grain. Why then should I think of any other woman? Job 31:1-12
