Avoidable Ashes
What once stood tall and green is no more, bristled, wooden and stout to the core. For many cycles it stood, watching left and right, standing so tall that nothing escaped it's sight. Too big to climb and too wide to fall, through it's deep branches, you could hear birds call. But on that night when screams could be heard, erupted in flamed, the villagers were scared. Raining ashes and flames, some wood below, a fool with a flame now reaps what he sow. A thing of nature and of beauty destroyed, of shade and of fruit, the village now devoid. Flames are destructive, rendering all to ash, All you find beautiful will wither in a flash. Misguided and silly was this young man today, meddling around with embers for nothing short of play. And the grand oak is now gone, rendered to naught but dust, Soon to be blown away with but a short gust. Keep that which burns far from young and foolish hands, Ensure the avoidable flames do not consume your forests and lands.
