Goodbye Ricky
Where has my inspiration gone Why is the well so dry My best friend left the earth And now I’m wondering why I cannot find the words to tell Of how he’s missed so much I could always depend on him He was my lifes greatest crutch Whenever I had a problem I’d give my friend a call Soon he would be at my door Standing there strong and tall The problem he would quickly sort With his usual cups of tea Leaving me with problem fixed Saying that was so easy It was for him but not for me He mastered every task Making all jobs look easy Behind his smiling mask Then the good Lord called him He had jobs for him to do Maybe a broken computer Or a problem with a loo Whatever it was my friend he went And left us here to ponder Thinking about the chasm he left How he filled our lives with wonder We won’t ever forget you Ricky You’re in our hearts to stay And you’ll be remembered daily Till we all join you one day
