Two Boys and a Wise Man
Two Boys And A Wise Man ( Story/Poem ) Once there lived a wise old man. He lived on top of a hill. Everyday he would sit outside his porch and look down. He was very old and had a long white beard. The thing was that he could not see. He was blind, but he was very wise. People came from everywhere to see him and to seek his advice. In the village also lived two young boys, that were kind of mean. They wanted to play a trick on him. One said to the other - let's play a trick on him. We will get little bird and hold it in our hands, than go to him. We will ask him , if he knows what we have, if he guesses, then we will ask him if the little bird is dead, or alive? If he says he dead - we open our hands and let him fly. If he says it is alive, than we crush him. They went up the hill with the little bird. They said - wise man, wise man. The old man answered - yes, how can I help you? The boys said, can you guess what we have here? The wise man said - a little bird. They said yes, but is he dead, or alive? The wise man answered - he is whatever you want him to be. If you want him dead - he will be and if you want him alive - he will live. It is up to you, What do you want? The two boys left, they knew they could not trick the wise man... 04/20/2014 Written by Lucilla M. Carrillo Note: The moral of the story is that no matter how old a person is - That person can be wise...
