Wishing Well
I wish I had a wishing well I would cast a great big spell I would send my worries away And bring sunshine to brighten my day I would ask for health and serenity And a whole lot of trouble free money I would want a nice pad And buy all the latest fads I would make myself jolly By spending an excessive amount of money I will not forget anybody Especially the ones that upset me Id help out a few mates And those who come with a begging place I would no doubt attract a lot of envy And may not be able to distance myself from infamy I might even act silly All because I have a lot of money As I indulge in gluttony And become more unfriendly I may slowly begin to hope That I don’t find this wishing well It might be a noose around my swollen head It might cause me not to sleep As I count and count all that money That will slowly but surely Make me feel empty A disastrous spell I think I would cast I would only wreck my peaceful anonymity I would lose my humanity Despite all the money I’d give to charity I think it is best If I just continue as I am Poor and just another somebody And hope god plays me a better hand To live life as best as I can
