Remember
Listening to poison for days Kept me in a maze Like cattle, I began to graze On wrong pastures To hide the torment and feed on laughter Nothing about it was funny Guess who felt like a dummy Nothing about it was good All I felt like was misunderstood It was a tragedy To battle me Fear Tried To stop my destiny, Parasitical grip I started to slip I didn’t know I was taking a trip Down the road of the Destitute Where men start to shoot Anyone and everything Including their arms And enjoy the sting Watching their faces, as they crash into cereal bowls Then, their reply is “I’m tired, that’s all.” I hear, Zombies are real and They live on our streets Yet, we pay them no mind Some even get beat When that’s your Son When that’s your Daughter When that’s your Best Friend begging for a Quarter Then, maybe, they won’t be just “Another Waste” Maybe, you need to look them in the face And let them know that there is healing and grace God can use us in the most unusual place.
